Region Six Chairman, David Permaul Armogan, has stated that once again the Regional Administration had another productive and successful year despite a number of challenges and some setbacks.  He said that the Administration was able to complete more than 99 percent of its 2013 capital and current work programme.Regional Chairman David Armogan, centre, flanked by other Regional Officials.Except for the roads which he blamed on some errant contractors all planned works were successfully completed with some savings realized which saw additional works being undertaken.  These were some of the disclosure made by Regional Chairman Region Six,Cheap NFL Jerseys China, David Permaul Armogan, when the Administration held a press conference to review the performance of the Region during for the year 2013.The press briefing was held on Friday in the boardroom of the Regional Administration at Vryman’s Erven,Throwback Jerseys, New Amsterdam.Armogan said that the Region had an allocation of $383.4M under its capital programme and $3.7 million under its current programme for the year. He said,NFL Jerseys Authentic, “We have completed almost all the work that was given to us and the money that was sent back to Central Government was basically wages and salaries that we couldn’t expend.”He said that funds were spent under education, health drainage and irrigation and roads.Looking at roads the Chairman mentioned that the Region did well except for a few  errant contractors who he named as  Sham Lorric, Dharry Tulsie, and Narendra Latchman who did shoddy work and were not able to complete their task.The Region is taking a serious look at these errant contractors with a view to having them being seriously sanctioned.  In fact he mentioned that some of their contracts were terminated and the region is preparing statements to send to the relevant Ministry for their appropriate actions.He said that, however, during the year more than 100 roads were completed in the region under various programmes undertaken by the Region and the Ministry of Public Works.Under Health, the chairman noted that several doctors’ quarters were rehabilitated; the Mibicuri Hospital Mortuary was renovated. Armogan added that all possible areas were touched including the riverine areas.He said that extensive work was done on the Bara Cara Health Centre some 75 miles up the Canje River. The people of Orealla will also benefit from the purchasing of an ATV machine and a boat and engine to service the area.“These machines- the ATV and the boat will be delivered before the end of the month to the residents. Twelve mini excavators were donated to the Region by Central Government which helped with drainage in the Neighborhood Democratic Council (NDC).Mr. Armogan said that all communities benefit and this has led to an improved roads network in the region.Sugar was a major disappointment and continues to be a headache. However the three East Berbice Estates have been able to hold their own with two of them reaching their 2013 targets for the second crop.The estates of Albion and Rose Hall have done better than the other estates in the country while Skeldon continues to be a disappointment. He stated that although the Region did better than the other areas he was very disappointed that only 186,000 thousand tons of sugar was produced the lowest production in 23 years for Berbice.Touching on the modern state of the art factory at Skeldon, the Chairman said that it was a disappointment. It has not lived up to expectation despite millions of dollars being pumped into it and considerable time being spent also to do repairs and rehabilitation.The Region saw record production in the Rice sector with the production during 2013 being the largest in a number of years.No mentioned was made about Rates and Tax collection and the performance of the three towns and 16 Neighborhood Democratic Council’s (NDCs) in Region Six.
