On this note, the court was informed that John failed to meet the standards and skill of a competent driver.Thus, the court declared that the careless driving of John caused the death of Jayden Charles.The court took into consideration the fact that a life was lost and the prevalence of the offence in today’s society. According to the Magistrate, statistics show that a dozen children have lost their lives on the roadway from January to September. In this regard, she stressed the need to prohibit motorists from contemplating the actions of John.John’s lawyer asked the Magistrate to exercise leniency by telling the court his client has two children and is expecting another.
