The Minister within the Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports,Grady Jarrett  Falcons Jersey, Nicolette Henry,Mike Webster Steelers Jersey, and a team of officials fromMinister within the Ministry of Culture, Nicolette Henrythe Ministry recently visited and met with Neighbourhood Democratic Councils,Stephen Gostkowski Patriots Jersey, (NDC) representatives and other Youth Organization leaders in Region Three.The meeting was to discuss the roles the Ministry will be undertaking in the region for the year 2016 pertaining to Youth Sport and Culture and the 50th Independence Anniversary celebrations.The team included APNU/AFC Member of Parliament,John Stallworth Steelers Jersey, John Adams; Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture Youths and Sport, Alfred King; Deputy Permanent Secretary,Dwight Freeney Falcons Jersey, Steve Ninvalle; Director of Culture Dr. James Rose; and Director of Youth, Jillian Frank.This is the first meeting that Minister Henry hosted with the community members of Region Three for the year.Henry urged the gathering to be aware of the opportunities available to the Region as the plans for the Jubilee celebrations unfold.She told the Region Three residents that there will be numerous opportunities for them to be involved as proud Guyanese.She listed five events which will be open for participation of all Guyanese during May.These include a National Day of Prayer, National Day of Unity,Franco Harris Steelers Jersey, Flag Raising Ceremony on May 26,Dermontti Dawson Steelers Jersey, Totem Pole exhibition- related activities to be organised by the various Regions and a signature event that is also to be organized by the Regions.The Minister stated that the works that are to be undertaken in Region Three can only benefit residents and the community at large once every citizen is fully on board.“You are expected to participate in something,” she told the gathering noting that the goal is to have all the Regions involved.Minister Henry expressed her delight in seeing the group of youths at the meeting while adding that she is particularly sensitive to the needs of those in the rural communities.She noted that the idea is pretty much to provide young people with the right skill sets that would allow them to dream bigger for the next 50 years.Officials of the various Departments within the Ministry of Culture outlined the various cultural programmes and projects available for youths in the Region.The Minister within the Ministry of Communities Dawn Hastings also addressed the gathering.Hastings,Clay Matthews Packers Jersey, reminded the audience of her Ministry’s vision which is to Build Empowered Cohesive and Sustainable Communities all across Guyana.She told the residents that the time of exclusion from projects for various reasons no longer overshadow the nation.“The Youths” are all urged to come on board to make the vision of the Ministry a reality,Mike Wagner Steelers Jersey,” Hastings saidOther members of the visiting team touched on the different programmes that will benefit the Region throughout the year and in the future.The community leaders were urged to come up with ideas that would be beneficial to the respective Neighborhoods in ways of making sure all are involved and on board.
