Counsel argued that the woman was not “physically” found with the ammunition in her possession, and there is nothing to link her to the allegations.Hughes also stated that the woman is not a flight risk and she is willing to surrender her passport if required.Grant objected to bail, citing the nature and prevalence of the offence. He also pointed out the penalty that such an offence attracts.The prosecutor further asked the court to have the defendants remanded since the firearms that were found during the raid are currently being tested to investigate if they were used to commit any unlawful acts.Magistrate Sewnarine –Beharry upheld the prosecution’s request to not have the defendants released on bail, hence remanding them to prison.The matter was transferred to Court 2, where Magistrate Ann McLennan is presiding. The magistrate ordered that the defendants return to court on March 3.The individuals were busted with the large sum of ammunition last Friday. The bust stemmed from information received by the police, which stated that Satyendra Khemraj was dealing with arms and ammunition. He is the Director of a Medical Clinic located at Austin Street, Campbellville.
