A case of fraudulent conversion was dismissed against Dexter Bentick,Ray Lewis Ravens Jersey, after his niece refused to give evidence,Steve Grogan Patriots Jersey, when the matter was called yesterday before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.It was alleged that between, December 18, 2015 and February 19,Rickey Jackson Saints Jersey, last, at Georgetown, Dexter Bentick,Dan Marino Dolphins Jersey, being solely entrusted by Nekeisha Niles with a quantity of clothing valued $1.3M,Jack Youngblood Rams Jersey, to sell and to return the proceeds to Niles, fraudulently converted the proceeds to his own use and benefit.Initially Bentick, 39,Nat Moore Dolphins Jersey, of Bartica,Marshall Faulk Rams Jersey, pleaded guilty. However,George Blanda Raiders Jersey, based on an explanation he offered to the court,Herman Edwards Eagles Jersey, the Magistrate entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.Niles asked that the matter be dismissed since she and her uncle had made a deal (payment plan) outside of the court. Niles said that at the time of the incident, she was unaware of her uncle’s financial status.Police Prosecutor Sophia Sardinha had objected to bail for Bentick on the ground that he provided investigators and the court with different addresses.It was disclosed in court that some of the articles mentioned in the charge were recovered. |
