The 2016 Educational, Sports and youth development programmes of Guyana’s leading youth and sports organisation, the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club MS, last Wednesday received a major boost when three companies handed a carton of 24 trophies each to the Club.RHTYSC Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster receives trophies from Sentinel Berbice Manager Priya Rampersaud.Sentinel Security Ltd of Lamaha Street, Georgetown, Peter Levies Construction Firm of Hampshire Village and the Georgetown based Farfan and Mendes Ltd were the donors to the dynamic organisation, which on Tuesday received a National Award, the Medal of Service from the Government of Guyana for its outstanding contribution to sports, education and community development.Long serving Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster hailed the contribution of the three companies and stated the RHTYSC is seeking to obtain a total of 500 trophies for its planned list of activities. The trophies would be used to organise sports events like cricket, football, volleyball, basketball and chess, while the RHTYSC in April would also be hosting its 26th Annual awards ceremony where over 40 Club members would be honoured. The organisation would also be organising numerous Say Yes to Education programmes as it strives to promote the importance of education to youths.Foster disclosed that a total of 60 educational programmes like debates, essays, posters, spelling bees, public speaking and career choices competitions for students in the ancient county will be held. He expressed gratitude to Mrs. Noreen Gaskin of Sentinel Security, Mr. Peter Lewis of Lewis Construction and Mr. OnaiVasconcellos of Farfan and Mendes Ltd for their continued cooperation to the RHTYSC.Ms. Priya Rampersaud, Berbice Sentinel Security Manager in handing over the trophies on behalf of her company, stated that her Chief Executive Officer is always willing to partner with the RHTYSC MS as it is an organisation which always upholds the meaning of the word “Excellence” and is a role model for other organisation’s in Guyana. Mr. Peter Lewis, a long time donor to the Club expressed delight at being able to contribute to the hosting of youth related activities.
