Not every bait must be bitten, and a virtual complainant allegedly learnt this the hard way, after claiming to have been duped and then robbed of $220,000.The man, Clive Daniels was mentioned in the facts read by the prosecutor as the victim in a strange case of being ‘fooled and robbed’.The prosecutor told the court that on July 18, last, Wendell Maynard, a car washer also known as ‘Tupac’ went to the home of Daniels and told the man that he had a motorcycle for sale.Daniels, excited and interested in the cycle, then went to the South Ruimvelt Gardens home of the accused to view the cycle.According to the prosecutor, when Daniels arrived at the location he was confronted by Maynard and two other men, one of whom carried a handgun. Daniels was then relieved of his money, a total of $220,000, and the perpetrators made good their escape.Maynard was seen days later by the alleged victim who called the police, and he was picked up. Maynard, who pleaded not guilty, told the court that had he been imprisoned for one month and five days where he became sick and was being held for no reason. He also made a bail application for himself or requested that he have a speedy trial. He further made various applications to the court, and duly informed by the Magistrate that he could not dictate the terms of the hearings.The accused was further remanded and will be making his next court appearance on October 24.
