No matter what comes her way, Gloria Gobin, the Head Teacher of Patentia Secondary School said she will not give up on her 31 years of teaching service. Ever since the shooting to death of one of her students, Kelvin Fraser, the teacher said that she has been under attack from members of her community.On Friday night a person or persons unknown broke into Mrs. Gobin’s home wreaking havoc. She said that from all indications it was a deliberate attempt to torment her.Mrs. Gobin told this newspaper that she woke up around 06:00 hours yesterday after receiving a telephone call from a friend. The woman said she then decided to go into her kitchen which is in the bottom flat of her two-storey house.To her surprise, her entire kitchen was in disarray. The woman said that an entire pot of food which was in the refrigerator was on the dining table with all the meat gone; an entire bag of rice was emptied on the kitchen floor and soap power was all over the kitchen.Mrs Gobin added that some of her groceries were scattered all over the place while some were taken away.According to Mrs. Gobin, some of her power tools which were in her garage and a stabilizer are missing.She added that further checks later revealed that the perpetrators removed paling staves from her fence to gain entry into that yard and then picked the locks on her back door. The matter was immediately reported to the police. Up to noon yesterday Mrs. Gobin said she was still awaiting the fingerprint experts to visit her premises.The woman said that she will not be shaken by the attempts to scare her. She said that ever since Fraser was killed persons have blamed her for his death saying that he would have still been alive if she had not called in the police. She reiterated that she never contacted the police, but that it was a member of the Community Policing group whom she had contacted.She said that ever since that incident she has been at the receiving end of several threats by persons in the community.The woman said that the school remains open to all sort of elements since the Ministry of Education is yet to pull through on their promise of providing a security guard for the school.
