A Diamond Housing Scheme family is now frustrated after a Mash Day burglary at their home left them with over $400,000 in losses.Reports are that Dexter Joseph, his wife and two children left their Lot 2179, Diamond Housing Scheme home early Thursday morning to operate their stall in Georgetown. They returned after midnight yesterday.When they were a few feet away from their home, Joseph’s wife noticed their doors, gates and windows were wide open and on entering the house, they discovered that it was ransacked.To their dismay, the family discovered that thieves stole three desktop computers, one lap top and some jewelry, all valued over $400,000.Mr. Joseph had shipped the computers in with the aim of opening an internet café. The jewellery belonged to Joseph’s four-year-old son.“It sad when yuh working hard to make an honest living and those low lives swooping in to take yuh things. I feel violated”.Joseph and his disorientated family are hoping that the police find the perpetrators.Kaieteur News understands that a suspect is in police custody. |
