Cabinet approves $340M in contracts:Government has approved several contracts including $43.5M for new vehicles for the Guyana Defence Force.According to Cabinet Secretary, Dr. Roger Luncheon, at his weekly press briefings yesterday, some $36.8M was also approved for a dental boat to service riverain and hinterland areas.The Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) is also to get $34M in office equipment while a contract for the malaria supplies was approved for $21M.With regards to the water sector, $47M was approved for the drilling and construction of a well at Hague Back, West Coast Demerara.The Civil Aviation Authority is also to benefit from meteorological and other equipment to the tune of $30M while two markets contracts, one at Waterloo, Berbice, and another at Golden Grove, East Bank Demerara, were approved for $38M.The Police are to benefit from new uniforms and the contract for the supply of materials was approved for a total $89.7M.
