Graham Construction Company.Contracts for the works were signed on December 20 last,Brandon Saad Jersey, and according to Williams it is expected that each bridge will cost at least $500,000.Bridges will be constructed along Sussex Street and as linkages between Laing Avenue and West Ruimveldt.Williams disclosed to this newspaper that the commencement of the construction works was delayed to some extent,Marian Hossa Jersey, since the contractors had to source the appropriate lengths of timber which are normally not readily available.The material was eventually sourced from a lumber outlet on the Essequibo Coast.Yesterday the Deputy Mayor in the company of Deputy City Engineer,Pierre Turgeon Jersey, Lloyd Alleyne,Phillip Danault Jersey, inspected the ongoing works along Sussex Street to ensure that they were being done in compliance with the specifications of the contract.According to Alleyne the works are progressing satisfactorily, but he noted that some remedial work will have to be carried out on some of the structures.He added that the approaches and the painting of the bridge rails will be undertaken by the municipality, even as he noted that every effort will be engaged to ensure that the bridges are utilised for the purpose they were intended.Alleyne said that persons of the respective communities where the bridges will be located will be warned not to sit on the bridge rails, even as he speculated about the possibility of wrapping barbed wire around the rails.Meanwhile,J.
