Three Linden men made an appearance at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts yesterday after it wasHarold Rogersalleged they stole two motor vehicles.Harold Rogers, 20, of 2823 Central Amelia’s Ward,  Linden; Preston Skeete, 19, a mason, of 1103 Central Amelia’s Ward, Linden, and Shaun Wilson, 20, of 1910 Central Amelia’s Ward Linden were not required to enter pleas to the charges after they were read to them by Magistrate Fabayo Azore.The first charge alleged that between March 1 and March 2, at Wisroc, Linden, they stole one minibus valued $3.5M, property of the Linden Mayor and Town Council.Particulars of the second charge stated that between April 2 and April 3, at Amelia’s Ward Linden, they stole one silver grey Toyota AT 212 motor car, PPP 2664, valued $1.8M, the property of Renson Rawlins.Attorney-at-law Konyo Thompson-Sandiford made a bail application for the trio. She pointed out that she is unaware of the first charge, since she was only informed that her clients were accused of stealing the car.Counsel further explained that Harold Rogers rented the car from a rental service in Linden and the other two accused were passengers of the car at the time, when they were apprehended by the police.“This is a bailable offence,” the lawyer stated, while asking the magistrate to grant her clients their pre-trial liberty.  She asserted that the defendants are willing to post bail even if it is granted in a substantial amount.  “Releasing my clients on bail will allow them time to prepare their defence,” the lawyer said.Subsequently, she assured the court that the men are not flight risks and they will return to court to stand trial.Police prosecutor Simone Payne informed the court that the police are in possession of a confession statement that was made by Preston Skeete.Nonetheless, the men were ordered to post bail in the sum of $150,000 on each charge.The matter was transferred to the Linden Magistrate’s Court for April 14.
