“PPP” series to be available in time for electionsHire car (HB) and motorcycle (CF) motor vehicle registration series have come to an end, Guyana Revenue Authority announced yesterday.According to Wayne Austin, Senior Manager, Licence Revenue Office, as of September 1, 2011 there remained available a further 66 Motor Cycles in the ‘CF Series’; and 46 Hire Cars in the ‘HB Series’. With approximately 300 vehicles (cycles, hire cars, and other vehicles) being registered weekly, the ‘HB’ and ‘CF’ series came to an end mid September 2011.One of the older version HB hire carsGuyana Revenue Authority estimates that the ‘NN’ series which had 2244 vehicles remaining at September 1, will expire by the end of November 2011.Commissioner-General of GRA, Khurshid Sattaur, said that “the new series will be ‘CG’ for motor cycles, ‘HC’ for– hire cars and ‘PP’ for other vehicles (cars, buses)”.Adding that the ‘NN’ Series commenced in September 2010, Sattaur said each vehicle series runs from one to nine thousand nine hundred and ninety nine (9999).Motorists are reminded that in accordance with the Motor Vehicle and Road Traffic Act, it is an offence to drive an unregistered motor vehicle on the roadways of Guyana. |
