The People’s Progressive Party has registered its absolute and unqualified rejection of the scurrilous claims spelled out in an Alliance For Change (AFC) Press Statement dated February 2, 2010.According to a statement which was released by the party, the AFC’s statement is built on an amalgam of personal attacks, innuendos, and outright falsehoods. Moreover, the PPP notes with alarm that the consequences of the AFC statement, whether intended or unintended, are nothing short of sowing the seeds of discord in our country by the use of irresponsible and inflammatory language.The Party further denounced this vain attempt by the AFC to extract political mileage through a cocktail made of smear, half-truths, and conspicuous distortions.It was stated by the PPP, the notion that the AFC is on the move is the product of wild dreams by the principals and would no doubt be received ‘dead on arrival’ when dropped on the doorsteps of those who have now become accustomed to the lethargy of the party.The ruling party noted that the claim of the AFC is so distant from reality that even supporters of the AFC would know that the principals are exaggerating both their party’s activities and the capacity for leadership by these same principals.
