An elderly man, who was getting ready to belatedly celebrating his birthday with his children and grandchildren,Wholesale NFL Jerseys, was killed on the Corentyne highway on Sunday.Dead is Deowraj Doodnauth, 76, called ‘Daniel’ of Lot 165 B No.68 Village, Corentyne.  The fatal accident occurred around 16:30hrs on the village public road.According to information the man was riding his pedal cycle along the village public road on his way home when he was struck down by a speeding motor car. He was returning from a shop.The accident allegedly occurred in the vicinity of the No. 68 village turn when the driver lost control and struck the elderly man who was cycling in the corner of the road. The man was hurled several feet in the air and landed some distance away whilst his bicycle got stuck to the car.The young driver who seemed to be under the influence of alcohol continued to drive for a while, slamming into two culverts before the car came to a halt. The driver tried to escape, but was held by residents until police arrived.Relatives told the media that the man had gone to the shop a stone’s throw away and was on his way home when he was killed. They stated that they were at home when they heard a loud impact. Not knowing what it was they ventured outside and to their horror, realized that it was their elderly relative.Doodnauth was described as a hardworking and caring individual who was well known and respected in the community. The elderly man is survived by his wife, five children, grandchildren and other relatives.A release from the police stated that an accident occurred on the No. 68 Village Public Road,  Corentyne on Sunday. It resulted in the death of pedal cyclist Dhanraj Doodnauth, 76 years, of the said village.The driver of the car is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
