This will be a lasting legacy to present and future generations of their descendants,” says Ashook Ramsaran, a US-based engineer who is the executive vice-president of the Global Organisation of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO).Ramsarran was born in Guyana. His great-grandfather had come to these shores as an indentured labourer in 1853.Many other People of Indian Origins with similar background from countries such as Trinidad, Suriname, South Africa, Fiji, Mauritius and Malaysia have been involved with the project.Vayalar Ravi, Minister of Overseas Indian Affairs (MOIA),Kobe Bryant USA Jersey, will preside over the special ceremony to unveil a ceremonial plaque on January 11.Also in attendance will be other officials of MOIA,Authentic Marcus Morris Pistons Jersey, officials of Ministry of Port Trust,Dwyane Wade Bulls Swingman Jersey, officials of West Bengal Government, GOPIO International, representatives of governments worldwide where Indian immigrations live, historians and academicians.The first set on Indian indentured workers came to Guyana on May 5, 1838.
