The said articles are forbidden.The Prosecution was represented by Police Prosecutor Corporal Bharat Mangru who objected to her being granted bail citing the serious nature and the prevalence of the offence.Mangru also offered objections on account of the fact that the prison is a confined area. He said that had the items made their way into the area of confinement, “it could have posed a serious threat and danger to society”.When the 24-year-old addressed the court, she said that the prisoner she visited is a man whom she had previously shared a relationship with. Though they are no longer together, she explained that she was asked by his mother to deliver a box of food to him.The woman claimed to have had no knowledge of the SIM cards being hidden in the box of food. She stated that she only knew of it when she was confronted by officials.Magistrate McGusty granted bail to the tune of $50,000.The matter will be called on January 22.
