Yesterday as the preliminary inquiry (PI) into the murder of 16-year-old Queen’s College student, Neesa Lalita Gopaul,Jerry Rice Raiders Jersey, was called again at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court,Keyshawn Johnson Jets Jersey, none of the lawyers representing her alleged killers were present.Chief Magistrate Priya Beharry is hearing the case.Because of the absence of the lawyers the PI was re-fixed for continuation on May 9, at 13:20 hours.State appointed prosecutor,Dick Butkus Bears Jersey, Pretima Kissoon, had informed the court that all the witnesses who were expected to take to the witness stand yesterday were present.Neesa’s mother, Bibi Gopaul,Terrell Davis Broncos Jersey, and her gym instructor-lover, Jarvis ‘Barry’ Small, are charged for allegedly killing her.Attorney at-law Vic Puran and his daughter, Mishka Puran, are representing Bibi while senior counsel Bernard De Santos and Pamela De Santos,Troy Aikman Cowboys Jersey, are representing Small.Already examined by the prosecution were police Lance Corporal,Marcus Allen Raiders Jersey, Jermain Laundry, Lance Corporal Anoudh Bissoon, Jennifer Sumrah,Archie Manning Saints Jersey, Keisha Douglas, policeman Joel David, and Assistant Superintendent Terrance Paul and Bharrat Samaroo.During one of the hearings certain exhibits were tendered in open court. The lawyers made no objection.It was quite a scene when Bibi who was seated in the prisoners’ dock started to sob while the exhibits were shown to the court.The police are alleging that some time during September and October 2010, Small and Bibi Gopaulmurdered Neesa Gopaul.The teen went missing on September 23,Wes Hopkins Eagles Jersey, 2010, and a report was made at the Leonora Police Station by her mother two days later,Kellen Winslow Chargers Jersey, on September 25.Her remains with the head bashed in beyond recognition were found at the Emerald Towers Resort, on the Soesdyke/Linden Highway on October 2.The disfigured corpse was found stuffed in a large suitcase that was dumped into the Madewini Creek. Certain articles found in the suitcase, led to the arrest of the two suspects. |
