Two men, who were apprehended by police officers after allegedly committing a brazen daylight robbery on two well-known money-changers in Rose Hall, were yesterday remanded after being slapped with multiple charges when they appeared before Berbice Magistrate Mauricia Mittleholzer.Curt Batson, 20, of New Market Street,Larry Bird Celtics Throwback Jersey, Rose Hall Town and Kelvin Bates,Celtics Throwback Jersey, 19 of First Street, Rose Hall Town, answered to six charges of robbery under-arms,NHL Throwback Jerseys, one attempted murder, possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking and possession of arms and ammunition.Batson and Bates were accused of committing an armed robbery on Rose Hall money-changers 26-year-old Anil Sukraj ($150,Tom Waddle Bears Throwback Jersey,000) and 17-year-old Parsaram Dev Sukraj ($315,000 and two cellphones worth $29,000) on May 9, at Rose Hall Town Public Road, Corentyne.The men were not required to plea to the indictable charge.Batson also answered to charges of allegedly having in his possession 15 grams of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking; possession of five. 32 rounds of ammunition while not being the holder of a valid ammunition licence; and possession of a .32 revolver without being the holder of a licence, on May 9 at R&S Street, Belvedere, Corentyne. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.Batson also answered to a charge of committing armed robbery on Vanisha Shrikisson called ‘Vannie’ while in the company of others,Kansas City Chiefs Throwback Jersey, on April 30. The charge states that $1,Chuck Foreman Vikings Throwback Jersey,027,000 in cash,Chris Doleman Vikings Throwback Jersey, $112,000 worth of phone cards and $130,000 in jewellery were stolen.It was also alleged that on April 30,Shannon Sharpe Denver Broncos Throwback Jersey, he shot and wounded Samuel Fernandes, of Rose Hall Town, Corentyne,Boomer Esiason Bengals Throwback Jersey, with the intent to murder. Both accused were placed on remand. |
