Brigadier (ret.) David A. Granger launched his latest book last evening at Congress House in Sophia with a simple ceremony.The book entitled “Public Security; Criminal Violence and Policing in Guyana” was described as “Chronicling Guyana’s history in a simple and dynamic way in the eyes of a soldier”.“Public Security” is a compilation of 20 essays that Granger had written in the past and it deals with issues occurring in the past 10 years in Guyana.According to Shadow Finance Minister, Volda Lawrence, who gave a synopsis of the book, “It examines how criminal activity flourishes when public policy fails”. She further stated that the discussions in the book are “devoid of political rhetoric with its purpose being to find a solution”.In his essays, Granger, shed light upon the Government’s deteriorated “Target Special Squad” who performed many atrocities on patriots including “unwarranted activities” that resulted in retaliation, which saw many hard-working police officials murdered.  He also shed light on drug trafficking, the Bartica massacre and domestic abuse to name a few compelling aspects.Lawrence commended him for including domestic violence in the book because she believed that “it has become so entrenched in society that no day passes without such an incident” and stressed that the issue needed to be more extensively addressed.She expressed the belief that Granger had “succeeded in highlighting ideal affected aspects of Guyana’s social security,NFL Jerseys Cheap China, and she stated that in addition to this publication,Deion Sanders Falcons Jersey, much more has to be done to sensitise and improve public security in the country.
