The Region Five Administration on Thursday received millions in equipment and vehicles to assist with the Region’s ‘Clean-up-my-Country’ initiative. Minister of Local Government and Regional Development, Mr. Norman Whittaker presented seven John Deere (65 HSP – Double Wheel Drive)Tractors and seven Bison Hydraulic lift Trailers were presented to Regional Chairman of Region Five, Mr. Bindraban Bisnauth and other senior regional officials in the Regional Democratic Council (RDC) Compound, Fort Wellington, West Coast Berbice.Additionally, 250 forty-five gallon bins to be used across Region Five, were also handed over. These bins will be placed in public places as identified by each of the 10 Neighbourhood Democratic Council (NDC) in the Region. The NDCs that would benefit from the gesture are: Mahaicony- Abary; Hamlet-Chance; Blairmont/Gelderland; Union/Naarstigheid; Bath/Woodley Park; Profit/Rising Sun; Seafield/Tempie; Rosignol/Zeelust; Bel Air/Woodlands; and the main RDC.Regional Executive Officer (RExO), Mr. Ashford Ambedkar,NFL Jerseys Outlet, urged the Chairmpersons and Overseers of the various NDCs present, to use the equipment for their intended purposes. Similar sentiments were echoed by Minister Whittaker and Mr. Bisnauth.Whittaker asked that the bins be placed in government spaces so members of the community can have access to them. He further advised that while these things are handed over to the council, the equipment should be used for their intended purposes.The RExO implored that care be taken when using the machines, “and it must be used for the benefit of the people and not for private work.” |
