Three men have been remanded to prison after they appeared in court to answer charges following a shooting incident that left two of them nursing gunshot wounds.First to appear was 21-year-old Anthony Taylor, of Albouystown, who was charged with discharging a loaded firearm and with felonious wounding.Both charges were indictable and Taylor was not required to plead.It is alleged that on June 20 last, at James and Cooper Streets, Albouystown, without lawful authority, Taylor discharged a loaded firearm at Troy Bishop with intent to maim, disfigure or disable him.It is also alleged that on the same day, with intent to maim, disfigure or disable, he feloniously wounded Troy Bishop. The court was told that three men were involved in the shooting incident in Albouystown.After the charge was read to the accused, Police Prosecutor Deneashwar Nauth asked the magistrate to refuse bail. Nauth asked that the court take into consideration the prevalence of gun crimes in today’s society. Taylor is expected to make his next court appearance on July 11.The two other men were remanded to prison on a similar firearm charge.
