The Berbice Campus continues to be supportive to the Cyril Potter College of Education (CPCE) by housing trainees at the Johns Campus location. A number of Lecturers and Librarians have also been attending international conferences in the USA and the West Indies as well. There will also be a series of workshops shortly to be held by Dr Joseph Farley from France. He will be holding IT workshops for staff and students free of cost.Prof Samad also revealed that while he was in the United States recently, he acquired three student scholarships from generous individuals. These scholarships have a value of 4 years each and will be based on performance and a strict financial needs analysis.Despite certain obstacles in the way, Prof Samad said that the campus is pressing forward with development in every area and that progress continues.He hinted at some ‘struggles’ that are being directed towards him from certain individuals whom he named. That, he said, would not stop the campus from providing quality and accessible tertiary education to the Berbice community.
