A voir dire is currently underway in the High Court trial for the four men implicated in the execution-style killing of 72-year-old Robb Street resident, Clementine Fiedtkou-Parris. Fiedtkou-Parris of Lot 42 Robb Street was killed in her home on June 30, 2011.According to reports, persons unknown hired the accused to murder the woman who was engaged in a property dispute. On the day in question, two men went to Parris’ home and requested an audience with her.Upon hearing the persons requesting her presence, she moved to the door where the gunmen opened fire on her. She was hit several times about the body which resulted in her death.It was reported that after the shooting, the suspects made their escape in a waiting car.The men were also purportedly caught on video camera committing the act. The accused are being represented by Attorneys -at- Law, George Thomas, Moti Singh, Raymond Alli and Maxwell Mc Kay respectively.According to the indictment, on June 30, 2011, the four men murdered Clementine Fiedtkou-Parris pursuant to an arrangement whereby, money was to be passed from one person to another.Yesterday a third Voir Dire (trial within trial) got underway. The proceeding is expected to determine the admissibility of the Caution Statement, procured from the number one accused, Orin Hinds called “Red man.”The Caution Statements taken from both Jacobs and Cleon Hinds were previously admitted to the trial, following a voir dire. In both statements the accused, told police of a plot to murder the elderly woman, who was engrossed in a legal dispute over the land in which, she occupied. The trial is slated to continue today. |
