Joseph Goricknauth Ramdyal, 56, a Guyana-born US citizen was yesterday found dead in his room at the Pegasus Hotel. The man, who had booked into the hotel on October 2 and was scheduled to leave today, was found by a house keeping maid just before 9:00hrs yesterday.Hotel Deputy Manager, Susan Isaacs,Nike NFL Jerseys China, said that her staff went to the room to do routine housekeeping and found him lying at the side of the bed. “After senior staffers got the report, several of them, including the manager and chief of security, went to his room and checked for vital signs, but there was none.“So we called his next of kin whom he said was his relatives and we contacted the police,” she said.On the scene yesterday, several Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) ranks were seen entering the elevator en route to Ramdyal’s room.Minutes later, others arrived in the company of Government Pathologist Dr. Nehaul Singh. After more than 45 minutes in the hotel room, Dr. Singh emerged and said, “It looks like natural causes. I don’t suspect anything else but the police will tell you all you need to know.”Several other ranks exited the elevator with a suitcase and several bags containing the man’s personal effects and clothing minutes later. These were whisked away to the police station.The hotel’s Deputy Manager said that from all accounts the man died of a possible heart attack. She noted that several months ago he had suffered one while being a guest and had to be rushed to the hospital before.Seecharan, his boyhood friend, who was listed as the next of kin, was visibly shaken in the hotel lobby but said, “I see he yesterday and he seemed okay to me. When I asked he about he medication he said that he alright.” Referring to the last heart attack he recalled that Ramdyal “went in Balwant Singh hospital for 12 days the last time.”Reports are that the man was diabetic and police believe that he was testing his sugar levels and suffered a heart attack.  They removed some insulin and blood sugar testing strips found close to the man’s body in the hotel room.  His body was taken to the Lyken funeral parlour.The man who was vacationing here, leaves to mourn his wife, Gladys, and daughter, both of whom reside in Puerto Rico. Born in Guyana, he grew up in the village of Paradise on the East Coast, Demerara, and attended the Swami school before migrating to the USA where he served in the US army.He later gained employment with the US postal services until he retired. Upon completion of his retirement he settled in Puerto Rico but often visited Guyana. According to his friend “he was good man who always thought of others.”Mr.Joseph Ramdyal was born in Paradise, East Coast Demerara on May 1. 1951,  the  youngest of eight children. He migrated to the US in 1969 to pursue his studies. He was drafted into the Military and served in the Vietnam war.He spent two years in the Army. After returning from the Army he spent his entire adult life working at the US main post office in New York City until he retired two years ago.His dreams were to retire to a warm sunny climate, which he found with his wife in Puerto Rico. He had traveled the world visiting over 50 different countries. However, he often returned several times a year to his beloved homeland where he had hoped to spend several months each year.
