That bunch of young men kicked and flipped at each other in tune to music.The drill displays were a sight to behold as ranks with bayonets and guns dressed in three quarter khaki pants fascinated with their marching for the silent drills.The ladies from the Women’s Army Corps in green, red and white were neat as they crisscrossed in marching steps, interchanging at intervals. As part of their maneuvers, they created the number 50 as homage to the army’s anniversary celebrations.Not to be outdone, was the GDF’s Military band, which belted out infectious rhythms. As serious as military men can be this bunch was the life of the show. They probably took their moves from the man in the lead who twirled his mace in tandem with his waistline.The assault and rescue was among the highlights of the show. Patrons were totally drawn in to the demonstrations of a hostage situation which was neutralized by the army’s elite fighting force the 31SF squadron.Fireworks to conclude the 2015 Military tattoo put on by the Guyana Defence Force.As part of the situation the team enacted the drastic measures taken during international unrests and increased terrorists activities to ensure the safety of the nation.
