Michael Pollard of 3769 North Ruimveldt,Tom Brady Patriots Jersey UK, Georgetown,Joe Gilliam Steelers Jersey UK, was yesterday denied pre-trial liberty by Chief Magistrate Priya Beharry when three charges were read to him at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.The 60-year-old was not required to plead to the indictable charge which stated that on July 24 at Mango Landing,Ben Roethlisberger Steelers Jersey UK, Wenamu River,Clay Matthews Packers Jersey UK, he discharged a firearm at Nigel Jerrick of Lot 40 Bee Hive,Chris Hogan Patriots Jersey UK, East Coast Demerara, with intent to disfigure.It was also alleged that on July 30 at the said location, he had in his possession,Mohamed Sanu Sr Falcons Jersey UK, a single barrel shot gun and three 12 gauge cartridges. To the charges of possession of firearm and ammunition without being the owner of a valid licence,Morgan Burnett Packers Jersey UK, Pollard pleaded not guilty.Police Prosecutor,Jack Ham Steelers Jersey UK, Bharat Mangru told the court that on July 24,Heath Miller Steelers Jersey UK, during an argument with Jerrick, Pollard removed a shotgun from his waist and fired at the complainant which caused him injuries to the right arm. The matter was reported and on July 30, the alleged assailant was arrested and charged.Prosecutor Mangru asked that bail be denied as there is a high likelihood that the accused may not return for his trial.Bail was refused and the matter was transferred to Kamarang Magistrate’s Court where Pollard is expected to make his next court appearance on September 16. |
