Convicted robber Marlon Persaud was yesterday jailed again. According to the Magistrate, Persaud remained silent when asked whether he had chopped Gilbert.Before passing sentence, the Magistrate underscored that Persaud did not act in self-defence and his attack was intended to cause harm to the prisoner. She told him that he should have exercised better judgment.Magistrate Latchman took all mitigating factors into consideration and pointed out the fact that a cutlass was used to inflict the wounds. He told the court that a lot of violence is occurring in prison. He said that he was convicted in 2012 for an armed robbery and will be out of prison in November.
