Early yesterday morning children making their way to the Kawall Primary School in Canal Number Two Polder discovered a man’s body floating in a trench.The man’s belongings at the scene where he was found. Reports are that the discovery was made some time around 07:30 hours yesterday. The man has since been identified as 58 year-old Mohamed Shadeek Hanniff of Stanleytown West Bank Demerara.A resident who spoke with this publication said that after the children saw the man in the trench they immediately raised an alarm and the police were called in. Undertakers from the Dawn and Ezekiel Funeral Home later removed the man’s remain.As police searched the man’s body, they found a small amount of cash in his possession.
