Convicted sex offender, Murphy Noarhan, was yesterday sentenced to 40 years in prison. On December 14, last, Noarhan was found guilty of two counts of sexual activity with a child family member.On that date, a mixed 12 -member jury returned unanimous guilty verdicts on both counts of the offence but the sentence was deferred pending a probation report,Arizona Diamondbacks Gregor Blanco Jersey, which was requested by Noarhan’s Attorney, James Bond.The request was granted by Justice Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, after State Prosecutor, Stacy Goodings, gave no objections to filing the probation report.  Following the presentation of the report, yesterday, Justice Sewnarine-Beharry handed down the sentence of 20 years for each count of the offence.   The Judge ordered that the sentences run consecutively.Prior to the ruling, the Judge considered both the mitigation and aggravating circumstances of the case.    In terms of aggravating factors, it was noted particularly that the victim was merely 10 years old at the time of the commission of the crime and that the sexual act took place on two separate occasions.Additionally, the probation report outlined that the complainant is still traumatized over the ordeal.  The trial was conducted in camera at the Georgetown High Court.
