Possibilities unfolded for hundreds of young people on Friday at the University of Guyana (UG) during this year’s Career Day. Held at the Turkeyen Campus, each year the event sees hundreds of school children engaging in a learning experience that may point them down a particular career path.The University’s Faculties and Schools set up booths and exhibits to give a taste of their specialties to the visitors and to encourage them to consider careers in their respective fields. George who was a recipient of the coveted President’s Medal for being the best graduating student in his year achieved a 4.0 (or perfect) Grade Point Average (GPA) in his pursuit of a degree in Chemistry from the Faculty of Natural Sciences.He now serves as a lecturer in his former faculty passing on his knowledge to others.George told the students that Career Day is a medium for the transmittal of many things.
