Currently, there are several ongoing projects in the village.These are the Sawmill and the Cassava Projects in addition to the Land Reservation Extension and a few others.Wilson related that the Sawmill Project was established in Kwebanna eight years ago by the European Union (EU). The micro project still needs more financing.“We only got money for the equipment but didn’t had the finance to get the sawmill up and running. We have been producing but at a small scale,” Wilson noted.The previous government had promised to assist with the project, but did nothing.The village is still awaiting a $5M grant promised to them by the Community Development Plans (CDP) to begin their Cassava Project.Kwebanna also awaits approval of a land reservation extension for which the community had applied some nine years ago. Chinese logging company BaiShanLin was identified to have the same Reserve that the Village had applied for. But Wilson is hopeful that the parcel of land will be granted to the community since they “really need it”.
