Sherlock ‘Blacka’ Reid of Shirley Field-Ridley Square,Nike NFL Jerseys China, Georgetown on Monday made his first court appearance at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court where a charge for possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking was read to him by the Chief Magistrate, Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.The prosecution claimed that on December 16, 2013 at the Ogle International Airport,Wholesale Jerseys Cheap, Ogle,Jerseys NFL Wholesale, East Coast Demerara,Jerseys Cheap NFL, Reid had in his possession 1.044 kilograms of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. However, Reid pleaded not guilty and submitted an application for bail through his lawyer George Thomas.Special Prosecutor attached to the Customs Anti Narcotics Branch (CANU) Oswald Massiah stated that on the aforementioned day,Wholesale Jerseys, Reid had sought the assistance of someone to send a package to Antigua.Massiah said that he then called his regular taxi driver claiming that he required his services. The driver en route to Reid had picked up some of his relatives who had business transactions which required the use of his National Identification Card (ID).According to the prosecution, Reid then charged the man with the task of delivering the box to a New Market Street, Georgetown shipping agent. The driver who was in the company of another reportedly told Reid that he did not have his ID.Reid then allegedly suggested that the other man in the car could assist him. His request was not met with objections but rather a request for him to display the contents of the box.Massiah said that Reid then showed the “good Samaritan” the contents of the box which included Compact Discs (CD) and a photo album. The duo who believed that the box was intended for his aunt,Chile Soccer Jersey, as the box also contained pictures of the woman’s wedding, then journeyed to the shipping agent who in turn checked,Authentic Kyle Korver Hawks Jersey, and a staff member ventured to the airport with the box.The Prosecutor related that the journey was cut short when a CANU officer conducted what was described as a 100% check on the box. He described that the illicit substance was discovered in the roof of the CD case.According to Massiah the “good Samaritan” was arrested and taken to CANU where the substance was subsequently weighed. He said that the investigation which was launched led to Reid’s arrest.The matter was transferred to Magistrate Ann McLennan who then granted bail to the tune of $500,000. Reid will make his next court appearance on January 29 for report and fixtures. |
