In 2011, The United States accused Guyana of failing to take action against “official complicity” in human trafficking, but then Human Services Minister Priya Manickchand, denied this and wanted the US Government to supply the evidence.In 2012, following the establishment of the GWMO, Government was still adamant that human trafficking is not a major problem in Guyana.
