Scores of residents from West Berbice were able benefit from the services of a number of overseas based medical practitioners who teamed up with local personnel to deliver healthcare at the Fort Wellington Hospital on Monday and Tuesday.According to a spokesperson for the group Bridges Global Medical Mission, the mission was organized by Guyanese for Guyanese – a group of persons with a Hopetown connection giving back to the community. However significant growth has occurred over the years, and there have been changes to the outlook of the organization which continues to see an ever increasing number of patients each year.The outreach which began in 2008, was formerly an annual event,Zane Gonzalez Jersey, and concentrated mainly in Fort Wellington. However,Anders Lindegaard Manchester United Jersey, because of the need recognized, the Bridges Global Medical Outreach Mission is now coming to Guyana in May and again in September.The outreach has travelled to other parts of Guyana as well, and there has been a significant response to the programme. The mission would have seen an average of over 800 patients over the two days of outreach.While the organization would have shipped drugs for the medical exercise, they are working along with the Government hospital so as to be able to utilize whatever facilities are available,Reggie Miller College Jersey, and to ensure that prescriptions are met.For this venture the mission includes specialties in gynecology,Juan Mata Jersey, urology, pediatrics,Michael Roberts Youth Jersey, orthopedics,Javier Mascherano Argentina Jersey, and internal medicine, as they seek to cover as broad a spectrum as possible whenever they come to Guyana.Bridges Global Medical Mission is a non-profit organization that is self-funded.
