Two teens who sent shock waves in Guyana by executing two brutal murders within seven days, have been remanded to jail. They have been charged with murder.The teens, Gocoul Madanpaul, 18, called ‘Clown’, of 175 Block B Bath Settlement, West Coast Berbice, and Nazamadeen Raffick, 19, called ‘Shazam’ of Bush Lot, West Coast Berbice appeared on Wednesday before Magistrate Rhondell Weever,Kerry Wood Cubs Jersey, in the Fort Wellington Magistrate’s Court, West Coast Berbice .They were charged with the grisly murders of Doodnauth Rajkumar, 81, a businessman and his reputed wife, Dianne Chammanlall, both of lot 93A Bush Lot, West Coast Berbice.The two youths who are known to the authorities, stood expressionless when the charge was read to them.They are accused of between Friday January 8, and Saturday January 9, last, of murdering the couple, Rajkumar and Chammanlall, at their home in furtherance of a burglary.They were remanded by Magistrate Weever until February 3, when the matter is expected to be heard again.The third suspect, Rooplall AbrahimFurther charges are pending against the duo who are also fingered (one has confessed) in the brutal murder arson committed on Anita Baichan, 49, whose home was torched following a burglary at her Bath Settlement home on January 3.The third suspect, Rooplall Abrahim, who was captured on Tuesday in the number four swamp and has confessed to being part of the trio that murdered Rajkumar and Chammanlall is expected to be charged soon. He has also confessed to the murder/arson of Ms Baichan at Bath Settlement.He was up to yesterday being held pending charges. |
