His father, Joseph Anamayah, and brother, Adrian Anamayah, are both in the profession.He lauded the Government of Guyana, the Minister of Human Services and Social Security, and the legal aid family for extending their arms to embrace Region Six.On Friday, Minister of Human Services and Social Security, Priya Manickchand, declared the facility open.In June this year, similar services were launched in Regions Two and Five.As indicated by Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Labour, Human Services and Social Security,Carlos Correa Astros Jersey, Trevor Thomas, who chaired the programme, the ministry continues to work with a number of organizations. “This is one way of boosting its efforts to provide the necessary social services, and to ensure that persons at every level had access to legal services,” he said.The facility in Region Six — East Berbice /Corentyne — is housed at the Regional Democratic Council. The office was recently spruced up, compliments of the local administration.Chairman of the region, Zulfikar Mustapha, said East Berbicians have been waiting for such a service for some time. The move to open its doors in East Berbice, he said, is an indication of strides being made by the Government.According to Mr. Mustapha, over the years, the lives of the poor and vulnerable have somewhat been boosted. In support of this, he cited an increase in old age pension and public assistance, and the provision of school uniform vouchers, among other things.Attorney-at-Law Ramesh Rajkumar, who represented the Berbice Bar Association, told the gathering that provision of legal aid was available to Guyanese since 1994. Since then the idea of a branch in Berbice was mooted,Authentic Jerseys Cheap, he noted.At present, the Bar Association in Berbice has only 17 attorneys who service the entire East Berbice/Corentyne.
