Chief Magistrate Priya Beharry yesterday granted $50,000 bail to Cletus Azeem, a policeman who was charged with collecting inducement.It is alleged that on November 2,Alex Killorn Lightning Jersey, last, being an agent of the Government,Kurt Suzuki Jersey, Azeem obtained from Natasha Jones the sum of $40,000 as an inducement or reward to forego prosecuting Kenroy Cadogan.To the charge he pleaded not guilty and was represented by defense counsel, Patrice Henry,Remy Descamps Jersey, who in his bail application,Michael Strahan Giants Jersey, told the court that his client is 37 years old and has been a serving member of the Guyana Police Force for over eight years.Police prosecutor Stephen Telford did not object to bail.The matter will be called again on January 5.Also appearing before the same Magistrate was Glendon Harry who was charged with simple larceny.The accused,Tyrell Williams Chargers Jersey, who was unrepresented, pleaded not guilty.It is alleged that on December 21,Chelsea Jersey UK, Glendon Harry pilfered 15 rabbits from Yvonne Harry,Brian Dawkins Eagles Jersey, his aunt.According to police prosecutor Stephen Telford, on the day in question, Yvonne Harry observed Glendon Harry exiting her yard with the rabbits.The accused was apprehended by police officers that were investigating the incident.Magistrate Beharry allowed bail in the sum of $25,000 and made the matter returnable on January 5. |
