She then moved to Betsy Ground where she lived in a small house which was loaned to her by a friend with two of her four children after she and her partner started to have problems and they separated. She was living there for about three months. Kaieteur News understands that the woman although separated from her reputed husband, Megnauth, the woman and the man still had a relationship and Megnauth was keen in having her back.According to her relatives, she left her home around 09:30 Sunday after receiving a call from Megnauth to go and help him cook and clean up. The woman would usually visit her former home on a regular basis and Megnauth would return the favour. She had visited him the day before. She told relatives before leaving that she would be back around 11:30 to go to Babu John.After she did not return her 16-year-old son visited the residence and enquired about his mother and was told by his father that she had left since 11:30 to go to Babu John, but the woman did not return home. Relatives then began a frantic search for the woman, calling all her relatives. On Monday, the search continued and later in the morning the son was called by his father to go and assist him with some cooking.Around 18:00 hrs on Monday, relatives said that they received information that a body was spotted floating in the Canje River. They immediately informed the police and sought a boat but were unsuccessful as there was no gasoline.Early on Tuesday morning they were able to secure a boat and gasoline and began their search. At around 08:30 hrs the woman’s body was found caught in some bushes. At the time she was wearing the same blouse that she had left home with, but her pants was missing and she only had on tights. Her head was partly shaven and a portion of her hair and a piece of rope were used to bind her hands and her head in a crunch position. Parts of her body were badly bruised.The woman has four children, two girls and two boys. Her younger daughter, Wafeeza Rampersaud, 21, lives in New Amsterdam with her husband and three children; she said that she last spoke to her mother a few weeks ago and could not give any reason why someone would want to kill her mother. She is trying to ascertain the whereabouts of her elder sister.At the time Kaieteur News visited her two brothers were at the police station assisting with investigation.Police has since held her husband for questioning and her in the evening.
