She recalled seeing a number of things happen to her body, including the development of a lump in her left breast, and was convinced that these were just hormonal.At least two years had elapsed before she sought medical attention. “I waited and waited and believed it was this and that. When I felt a lump I thought it was just hormones when my period come and so on,” recounted Dharry who currently resides on East Coast Demerara.After her condition became unbearable she sought medical attention and got the shocking news that she had breast cancer. This was in November 2013. That same month she underwent a fine-needle aspiration biopsy (to assess the lump in the breast) at the GPHC. The following month she was required to do a lumpectomy (a surgical removal of a discrete portion or lump in the breast,Emre Can Jersey, usually in the treatment of malignant tumour or breast cancer), and then a mastectomy (surgical removal of one or both breasts, partially or completely) in January last year.In addition to radiotherapy she was required to undergo chemotherapy. Her cancer eventually went into remission.But even as Breast Cancer Awareness Month was being observed last month Dharry started manifesting symptoms of cancer again.  This time the cancer was detected in her lungs. She was taking chemotherapy when this publication paid a visit to the Oncology Unit one day during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. But she did not appear discouraged at all.“Here is superb.
