Businesses in Guyana are being invited to tap into US$7.8B pledged by international donors to help reconstruct Haiti which was devastated by a major earthquake earlier this year.The Guyana Manufacturing & Services Association Limited (GMSA),Wholesale Jerseys, yesterday in a statement,Wholesale Jerseys Group, said that it is inviting eligible local companies to submit business profiles in response to a request by Caribbean Association of Industry and Commerce (CAIC).Former Prime Minister of Jamaica,Wholesale Jerseys, Percival Patterson, is coordinating CARICOM’s participation and possible involvement. Coordinator for Guyana is Clinton Williams – President of GMSA.According to the GMSA, it is expected that a business forum led by CAIC/CARICOM, will be held in Haiti during the first week of July to concretize CARICOM/Private Sector Business involvement in the various projects associated with the reconstruction program.“This involvement is likely to be in collaboration with a reputable Haitian counterpart and/or other CARICOM companies where such amalgamation might be more beneficial, considering the likely competition from other multinational companies.”The association disclosed that a number of sectors have been identified as priority and these would require comprehensive profiles from eligible companies. The areas include construction and engineering – including architects, building contractors and building material suppliers.It also involved food distribution and related industries,Cheap Stitched Jerseys, professional services,Cheap Jerseys From China, agricultural production and processing,Wholesale Cheap Jerseys, and shipping and logistics.However, GMSA warned that time is running out with respect to the July meeting and interested local businesses have until June 15 to submit their profiles to its Secretariat.It was noted that all profiles must be submitted under the heading “Haiti Reconstruction Programme.” |
