Boat owners of diesel operated fishing vessels have accepted a proposal to access cheap diesel from the Guyana Trawler Owners’ Association under a well monitored and regulated system involving the Co-operative Society and authorities.This unanimous decision was made following a meeting between fishermen,Wholesale China Jerseys, Mohamed Khan, Chairman of Greater Georgetown Fishermen’s Co-operative Society, and Denzil Roberts,Cheap MLB Jerseys, Chief Fisheries Officer of Agriculture Ministry’s Fisheries Department yesterday at the Meadow Bank Wharf.Fishermen in attendance at the meeting.The proposal limited to only diesel operated boats presented by Khan, was based on discussions he had with members of the Guyana Trawler Owners’ Association on Thursday. Apparently, when the proposal is proven successful only then would gasoline operated vessels stand to benefit.Khan said that the Trawler Owners’ Association would supply the Co-operative Society with fuel marked by Customs. The fuel would be sold to fishing vessels and the entire management of the fuel would be executed by the Guyana Energy Agency and the Guyana Revenue Authority.He noted that fishing vessels that are blacklisted would not be able to access the cheap fuel which would possibly be over $700.
