Hundreds of Linden residents on Monday evening flocked the Wismar Market Park, to give praise and thanks to the Almighty.They also went there to hear the community leaders congratulate them for voting overwhelmingly for the APNU/AFC coalition at the recently held elections.Among the speakers were RDC’s AFC councillor Audwin Rutherford and Regional Chairman, Sharma Solomon.Solomon told the hyped audience that Region Ten was the only region where the PPP/C lost votes.In his Thanksgiving message, Solomon quoted Civil Rights activist Martin Luther King, “If we are to go forward, we must go back and rediscover those precious values- that all reality hinges on moral foundations and that all reality has spiritual control.”He added, “We are gathered here to give thanks to Almighty God,Cheap NFL Jerseys, though he is called by different names based on our religion, we all acknowledged his presence in guiding our path. Historic in the sense that it took a coalition of two parties which themselves are a combination of parties to remove the PPP/C from of office.It should be noted that the signing of the historic Cummingsburg Accord afforded the APNU which consists of five parties to merge with the Alliance for Change which had Guyanese from the PNC, PPP, TUF and from all walks of life.“The 2015 results revealed that we have won a free and fair election and we have formed the Government. Victory won at the 2015 elections was a result of each and every one of you.We give thanks since this victory is of divine intervention. We must work together and most importantly we must live in one love and unity for we are one people, one nation one destiny, a destiny of prosperity and progress under this APNU-AFC Government.”The addresses were followed by further thanksgiving  and prayers  from  various religious leaders, among them Apostle Rollingston Mitchell, Brother Winston Muhammed of the Muslim Faith and Pastor Morris McKinnon who declared, “This is the day that the Lord has made.”Providing musical entertainment were the Seventh Day Adventist Choir, SASCA Heraldiers, the popular Ralo of First Born and Pastor Richard MacDonald.The Flame of the Heart group kept the audience enthralled with hypnotic African drumming.
