She noted that they were impressed, but that they had also noted the fierceness of the House.She noted that the decision to incorporate the debate on suicide was for the school to play its part in making a contribution to bringing awareness to suicide prevention, as suicide has become a scourge in Guyana.“For the Regional (local) Science Fair, we are doing a project on suicide,” the Principal also explained. “What we plan to do is use some of the students who debated today, because they now have a wealth of information on suicide to form a team to do that presentation.”She noted that among the measures the school employs to help students to know how to reject suicidal predispositions is to hold interactive sessions with resident students on suicide prevention in the dorms.The Ministry of Education has been embarking on suicide awareness sessions in Georgetown under the theme “Choose life; say no to suicide”, in several city schools since last month.
