The Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) has said that there was no delay in attending to the victim of  snakebite. In the process the hospital is refuting an article carried in the Kaieteur News on October 15.The hospital in a press release yesterday, stated that the young lady, Cassandra Dowlatram, did not have to wait several hours before receiving any attention at the health institution.According to the GPHC press release, “Dowlatram was triaged at 20:54hrs, registered at 20:55hrs and seen by the doctor at 22:00 hrs.”However, the uncle of the child, Gilbert George, who took Dowlatram to the public institution had informed Kaieteur News that they arrived at the GPHC around 19:30 hrs and had not received attention after more than an hour.The following day reporters were informed by family members that the 14-year-old girl only received attention shortly after reporters left the hospital. They said that this happened after 23:00 hrs the previous night. In its release, the GPHC stated that it did not have records of when the young lady arrived at the hospital.
