He said that the President focused more on lambasting the parliamentary opposition and the independent news outlets, Stabroek News and Kaieteur News.After admitting to criticising the President’s speech, Adams said that he was singled out by rally organisers and later confronted by two members of the Presidential Guard.Adams claimed the men questioned him on whether he did in fact criticise the President’s remarks, which resulted in one of the guards slapping him.In an interview with this publication, Adams disclosed that since the incident, members of the opposition bloc have visited the community and encouraged the teacher to continue his fight for justice.The Aishalton teacher also revealed that investigations are still ongoing in relation to the alleged assault and hopes that the matter can be resolved.A statement released by AFC lauded the Aishalton community members for voting to allow Adams to continue his residency in the village, after a motion was proposed at a village council to have him removed.In support of the educator AFC stated that, “Mr. Adams had every right to question our President or object to anything being said which he believed to be untrue.”
