I don’t think the people want to hear from him after years of cronyism, crime and corruption. I don’t think the people want to hear from Jagdeo at all.”When asked to pronounce on Jagdeo’s “misleading” statements that hold the former president to wanting nothing to do with politics, Granger said that, “Mr. Jagdeo is known for saying things not consistent with the truth.”On the issue of the APNU+AFC list, Granger said that a lot of emphasis was placed on experience, competence and balance, because the mess created by the PPP is “a lot to clean up.”The party’s Prime Ministerial candidate, Moses Nagamootoo described the APNU+AFC list as representing all sides of the Guyanese society. “It has proportionality, balance and diversity.”In describing the current political atmosphere, Nagamootoo said that “this is a new beginning; this is the movement of the future.” The Coalition’s turnout yesterday was huge. Supporters descended on City Hall from two directions, unlike the PPP’s supporters who came from the east on Regent Street.The APNU+AFC supporters to City Hall also came from the east on Regent Street; but at least another three contingents came from the south on the western half of Avenue of the Republic.
