For the fifth week in a row, the Guyana Sugar Corporation (GuySuCo) has recorded production exceeding 10,000 tonnes.Such a milestone was last achieved during the second crop of 2004, between August and September.A statement from GuySuCo stated that this achievement comes at a time when the corporation is aggressively seeking to increase production, through the implementation of several initiatives.Among those initiatives is an improvement in communication of the company’s operational objectives and expectations between management and workers, across its eight estates.Grinding for the second crop commenced at the end of July and is expected to last for 20 weeks.
