In third place was Dolphin Secondary with Ascension Community High in fourth.The ‘Other Children’s Organisation’ was an interesting segment which saw Ministry of Amerindian Affairs (Hinterland Scholarship Division) placing first ahead of Rotaract Club of Georgetown (Sophia Literacy Programme), David Rose School for Handicapped Children and Z-BRA Children’s Network, following at second, third and fourth respectively.In the float parade there was a lone entry, Valroiden Carmichael, with ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs celebrating Mash in One Design in 2009’.There was intense competition in the Regional Competition, but it was Region Three that was declared winner. Region Two followed in second. In third place was Region Six, with Region Four placing fourth.In the Mash Day Float and Costume Parade,Wholesale NFL Jerseys, Region Three took top honours in the Full Costume – Medium category, with Region Five securing the second spot.In the Full Costume – Small segment it was Region Ten that was declared winner, with Regions Four and Seven following with second and third places respectively.The King of the Road was Region Ten, while the Queen of the Road was won by Region Four. The Individual Male segment was won by Region Three.The Culture Ministry won the Full Costume – Large category, with the Sophia Cultural Association placing second. In third place was the Hits and Jams contingent.Taking the first place in the Large Semi Costumes was the Slingshot group followed by the Body of Christ, and the Don Gomes contingent at third place.The King of the Road title in this segment was given to the Ministry of Health, while the Queen’s crown was given to the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.The Health Ministry took first place in the Medium Full Costumes, while Ministry of Housing and Water came second. In third position was Region Three. The Small Semi Costumes segment was won by the Ministry of Local Government. Ministry of Health secured first place of the Individual Male costume segment.The Culture Ministry again scored highest in the Non-Commercial Float display,Wholesale NBA Jerseys China, with the Body of Christ group taking second place; Slingshot placing third.The Individual Female title was awarded to the Ministry of Labour, Human Services and Social Security.The Small Full Costume was won by Ministry of Education, while Regions 10 and 4 were declared the second and third place winners respectively. Don Gomes placed first in the Commercial Float category.What was noted this year with the masquerade bands is that the leaders seemed to have paid more attention to the quality of their costumes, while there were also improvements in the areas of dancing and flouncing.In the area of music, it was the Golden Arrowhead securing first, followed by Sunshine and Caribbean King Masquerade Bands in second and third respectively.Caribbean King returned to take the Band of the Road honours, followed by their arch-rivals Joker is Wild at second, while Sunshine placed third.The champion Mother Sally title was given to Christopher Antigua of Sunshine Band with Rondell Hutson (Snr.) taking second place. The third spot was awarded to Marlon Gillis of Caribbean King.The first place Juvenile Flouncer was Andrew Waldron of Caribbean King, with Delon Thomas of Golden Arrowhead taking second, followed by Akeem Holder of Caribbean King Band at third.The Mad Bull competition saw Raphael Trotman of Joker is Wild taking first place ahead of Reuben Cumberbatch and Wendell Moore of the Showtime and Caribbean King, who took second and third places respectively.Eusi Rogers of the Joker is Wild was declared King of the Adult Flouncing while his runners-up were Golden Arrowhead’s Rondell Waldron and Caribbean King’s Dion Waldron.Lindener Bernadette McBean of the Showtime Band took first place in the Bam Bam Sally contest, while Sunshine’s Denise Holland and Caribbean King’s Latoya McCalmont placed second and third respectively.Oral Sealy of the Joker is Wild won the competition in the Other Images Category, while Caribbean King’s Dion Waldron came second. In third place was Linden Cumberbatch of the Showtime Masquerade Band.The champion stilt dancer was Golden Arrowhead’s Trevor Blackett, followed by Caribbean King’s Andrew Waldron and Joker is Wild’s Eusi Rogers.In the Illuminated and Decorated Building Categories it was St. Ambrose and East La Penitence Primary Schools that placed first and second respectively in the Decorated School segment.The Non-Commercial Decorated slate saw the National AIDS Programme Secretariat (NAPS) placing first.
