Tucked away in 8×10 booths, small business holders could easily be lost in the throng upon throng who pass through GuyExpo, the country’s premier trade and investment exposition now on at the Sophia Exhibition Complex.And it’s not the crowds who mostly make a passing glance that is a bother so much. Some are bound to stop and taking a closer look. The price for the space – $35,000 – seems just a bit too much for first timers like 23-year-old Alyce Cameron.A graduate of the Burrowes School of Art, she looks GUYEXPO could open new doors for her. Her favourite skill is portraits, and she hopes that the charcoal piece of Young and Restless star Shemar Moore will fetch the $20,000 she deserves for it. In fact, she has other portraits, like the coloured-pencil Jada-Pinkett Smith.Alyce hopes that she can sell off all of the items she brought. Her hand-painted bags have been selling the most, and she is making sure she can satisfy the demand.Lloyd McGregor and his wife, Habibah, share a booth with Kamela Khan.
